There are a range of bedroom layouts available for guests and some offer views over the surrounding airport area. The best thing about the rooms is the views and most rooms will catch a glimpse of planes taking off or arriving at the airport. The noise level is not very noticeable here either, unless you have your windows open. The Dandenong Ranges can be glimpsed on a fine day in the distance too.
The bedroom has plenty of space and is a welcome comfort after a long journey or a good way to kick back before you head off on one! The beds are comfortable and cosy in the winter time, when Melbourne’s temperatures get quite cold. There is good heating and also air conditioning, which are must haves during the cold and hot months, respectively!

After a long flight, one of the best things to do is to sit down and relax with a refreshing drink and Vargas Restaurant & Bar can cater to this. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the furniture layout provides several spots to sit down and enjoy a beverage or two. The staff are extremely friendly and are happy to offer their recommendations for food and drinks.
The food here is seriously good and very Australian! So, if you are after some good quality Australian food, Vargas Restaurant & Bar has a delicious range of meal options! While the meals are a bit on the higher end of the price scale (from around 30 AUD for a main) they are good quality meals. For dinner, the gnocchi and roast pumpkin dish is highly recommended!
Things to do while you stay
Whether it’s for a night or two, there are plenty of things to do to keep you occupied during your stay.
One recommendation is to head out on foot and take a walk around the airport area, this is fun and gives you a ground-level view of what’s going on in and around the airport.
Within the hotel itself is an outdoor swimming pool and while this is usually busy during the day, the evening is a good time to go and take a dip if you are after a bit of quiet time. On the first floor of the hotel is also a fitness area, which if that’s your cup of tea, is great way to unwind after a long journey.
Another idea if you have a little more time up your sleeve, is to take the Skybus from the main pickup/drop off area at the airport into Melbourne City. It costs around 36 AUD (~25.80 USD) per adult, which is by far the cheapest method to travel into the city. Tickets can be bought online or from a Skybus booth located near to the pickup/drop off location at the airport. There is a timetable on the website and buses run 24 hours a day and seven days a week, so you don’t need to worry about staying in the city too long.

The restaurant and bar offer a good choice of quality food, so you won’t really need to go anywhere else unless you feel like exploring in the city! The pool and fitness areas are adequate enough to occupy you for a good few hours and whether your stay is long or short you may choose to spend more or less time here.
The highlights are definitely the friendly staff and the views from the rooms! With so much activity going on, it makes a good spot to have a morning cuppa. This is a great place to just chill out and relax after a long journey or even before you start one, particularly so because of it’s location right next to the airport, so you don’t need to rush or travel far to catch a flight.
