Nakamura is one of the kaiseki restaurants in Kyoto that has been serving quality Japanese dishes way back from the Edo period (17th to 19th century). Today, Nakamura is being run by the 6th generation of the owners, who also happens to be its chefs.

Hyotei is a three-Michelin star restaurant in Kyoto that has been set right on the grounds of the Nanzenji Temple since it opened during the 17th century. The restaurant is still being run by the same family. In fact, today’s owner-chef is already from the 14th generation of the family.
