The Claremont Opera House was opened on July 22, 1897, at a cost of 62,000 USD. Built in an Italian Renaissance Revival, the historic building is placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Retired businessman William H.H Moody donated this plot of land to the city of Claremont in 1916 and today, it is a Claremont local landmark.
