2. Take a short drive to Ashton
Ashton is a city in Idaho that is known as the “World’s Largest Seed Producing Area” and receives many tourists annually. The area is rich with things to do, no matter the season you decide to visit. 3. Hike the Cress Creek Nature Trail
Cress Creek Nature Trail is a short, yet moderate, hike located alongside the scenic South Fork of the Snake River. The trail climbs gently but there are plenty of steep inclines and declines that make it slightly tricky to navigate. This self-guided track is well-marked and a perfect activity for a clear day, especially if you want to enjoy expansive views of the Snake River and surrounding farmlands. There is also a number of activities suitable for different ages. The best time to hike on this trail is between June and October.

4. Spend a day outdoors at Rexburg Nature Park
Rexburg Nature Park in Rexburg, Idaho, is a 15-acre (6.1 hectares) park away from the traffic, making it a perfect spot to spend a day outdoors in nature. The museum is run by IST volunteers who show the guests some of the personal aircraft used in the service of the country. Porter Park was established in 1919 and is one of the oldest parks in Rexburg, Idaho. Also known as Rexburg Splash Pad, the park offers multiple activities for you to enjoy with your kids such as tennis courts, basketball court, picnic shelters, playground for kids etc. You can also just sit on its expansive grassy lawns or take a walk on its walking path. While there are many interesting activities offered by Porter Park, its main feature is the historic Idaho Centennial Carousel, one of the 170 antique carousels in the country!

Rexburg Rapids is the perfect place to chill on hot summer days. This water park gives your kids the ultimate fun activity complete with climbing walls, water slides, a splash pad, and lots more. While the park may be dominated by kids, there is plenty of green along the edges of the park where you can lay down in the sun for a tan. Smith Park is located on the east side of Rexburg. This community-favourite park is neatly tucked away in a quiet corner of the city. 14. Swing by Museum of Rexburg: Home of the Teton Flood Exhibit
The Museum of Rexburg: Home of the Teton Flood Exhibit was opened in 1981 in the basement of Rexburg Tabernacle. The museum houses collection of artefacts and pictures of the city and its surrounding areas. There is so much history in this building that you can easily spend four to five hours learning about it all. You can also watch a 20-minute video of the actual dam breaking and flooding of the area. This is a great place for a history buff and a perfect opportunity to learn about the history of Rexburg.

15. Watch a sunrise from R Mountain
The classic R Mountain hike is one of the most sought-after day activities in Rexburg. This hike is 3.3 miles long (5.3 kilometres approx.) and can be easily done on a warm afternoon within 45 minutes! The best time, however, is to go in the evening and watch the sunset. Don’t forget to bring your camera and a blanket as you watch the sunrise from behind the Tetons. It lights up the Snake River!

16. Visit Idaho Centennial Carousel at Porter Park
Known as the jewel of Porter Park, Idaho Centennial Carousel is the state’s only antique wooden carousel built in 1926 by the Spillman Engineering Company of New York and brought to Rexburg in 1952. After being damaged in the Teton Dam floods, it was rebuilt in time for Idaho’s 100th birthday in 1990. This carousel is one of the biggest draws at Porter Park. To this day, it runs using the original vintage music scrolls from Ohio’s Stinson Band Organ Company.
