DAY 1

DAY 1 -

Merdeka Square - Merdeka Square is the big square located on the down town of the city in central of Jakarta. At the square we will stop for picture at the President palace (white house of Indonesia. Photo stop only in front of the palace), stop and little walk at National Monument (icon of Indonesia), and passing sight the government building surrounding the monument at the square

National Monument - The landmark of Jakarta, also as a symbol of Jakarta. Standing 132-meters in height. Topped by a glittering flame symbolizes the nation’s independence. The flame is gilded with 50 kg of gold leaf. The basement of the monument houses an exhibit of 48 dioramas depicting the history Indonesia from Prehistoric times to the present.

The Catholic Cathedral Church & Istiqlal Mosque - Facing the Catholic Cathedral is Jakarta’s principal place of Muslim worship, the modernistic Masjid Istiqlal, which was constructed under Soekarno and is reputedly the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the Cathedral church was built in 1891.

Glodok Chinatown - Drive through the China town area known as Glodok. We’ll stroll through the traditional market in alley where you’ll find everything from Chinese style, to fresh vegetables and local fruits market.

Sunda Kelapa Harbor - This 500-year-old harbor area was a vital link to the markets of the outside world in the 15th century kingdom of Pajajaran. it is a bustling historical site where traditional wooden phinisi schooners are docked and still ply the seas between the islands.

Makutharama Puppet Studio - Visit Indonesian shadow puppets show is on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. To make these puppets, they use buffalo skin, boil it with spices to preserve it and keep insects away, then stretch it so it becomes paper thin. UNESCO designated wayang kulit, a shadow puppet theatre and the best known of the Indonesian wayang. Wayang, also known as wajang, traditional form of puppet theatre play originally found in the cultures of Java, Indonesia.

Fatahillah Square (Indonesian: Taman Fatahillah) - Is the historical center of the old Batavia. The square is located at the center of Jakarta Old Town. Today the square is a tourist area home to the Jakarta History Museum, Puppet Museum and Fine Art and Ceramics Museum in Kota, Jakarta.
