Charles Darwin was at Cambridge University in the early 1800s. You can admire his statue as a young man at Christ's College, located in a quiet spot with a wooden bench next to it. Sit down on it and imagine how young Darwin would have felt when told he was indeed going aboard the HMS Beagle for a two-year voyage around the world. The rest, as they say, is history. Did you know that a £6 ticket entry to the tower of Great St Mary's Church allows you, on a sunny day, to take great pictures of, among other things, the great lawn areas of King's College?
