Sausalito, California, is a beautiful city located in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is one of my favorite places in the world since it is close to San Francisco and the Pacific Ocean and it offers some magnificent views. If you would like to stay in a nice place away from the big city crowds, then Sausalito is a great option.

1. Artist beach house in the trees (from 129 USD)

This Airbnb is a separate apartment that has a separate entrance, therefore, it is quite private. It offers a queen size bedroom, kitchen and living room and a private bathroom with a shower. There is also an option for an extra or third person. The minimum stay here is two nights. A truly exciting reason to stay here is that this Airbnb was built on the site of Sausalito’s water tower. Just be aware that it is 22 steps up from street level, because of this.

A maximum of six people can stay here - if you use the living room sofa, that is. This place is located close to downtown, so getting around the town and to San Francisco is quite easy.
