There are several types of room for visitors to choose between, starting with the basic fan rooms at 500 THB (approximately 14 USD) per night. Perhaps past their best, it is well-worth splurging a little more and paying 800 THB (approximately 22 USD) for an air-conditioned room. Not only will you be heaps cooler but the rooms are more modern with better facilities and amenities. There are individual wooden chalet-type rooms or rooms within a double-level block available for the same price.

It can be tricky finding somewhere to stay if you are travelling as part of a trio. Best Beach Bungalows might just offer the perfect solution – rooms with a double bed and a single bed, for just 1,000 THB (approximately 27 USD) per night.

Note that all prices are based on staying outside of high season; you will likely pay more during the high season (December to March), with perhaps an even bigger increase during the peak months of December and January.

Good room facilities for a comfortable stay

Whilst the cheapest rooms essentially have just a bed, a fan, and a clothes rail, the slightly more expensive rooms have a wider choice of facilities. As well as hot water and air conditioning, you will also find a clothes rail, perfect for popping wet swimming gear outside to dry in the sun, a table and two chairs, a wardrobe, bedside cabinet with a lockable drawer, a television, and a full-sized refrigerator.

Whilst the accommodation is certainly a no-frills option and you won’t find any fancy trappings here, the low prices and location are what make this hotel appealing.

Each room has a seating area outside, with ground level rooms having their own small terrace and the upper floor rooms having a table and chairs on the outside walkway. All rooms are accessed from a long balcony.

The hotel has a beachfront restaurant that is open from breakfast time through until the night. Daytime diners can sit inside the air-conditioned reception area cum restaurant, on the patio overlooking the beach, or at tables directly on the sand. The building is closed during the evenings, with additional seating being placed out on the beach. The menu is extensive, with plenty of choice for seafood lovers.

Whilst the Wi-Fi signal does not reach the rooms, guests can use free Wi-Fi in the reception area or restaurant.

There is also a small bamboo beach shack bar next to the restaurant named Lipsmackers. Playing reggae music and retro tunes, they offer a great selection of refreshing fruit shakes and smoothies, an assortment of beers and cocktails, fizzy drinks, and favourites like iced coffees and teas. It’s a great place to chill out and soak up the vibe.

A great convenient location for anywhere you may want around Chaweng Beach

Although mentioned previously, it is well-worth giving more details on the property’s location. Situated on a small alley (known as a “soi” in Thai) that runs between the main road and the beach, guests are just a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of the shops, restaurants, and nightlife. The rooms are, however, far enough away that the sounds of late-night revellers do not intrude on a good night’s sleep. The alley is well-lit and busy enough that you should feel comfortable coming back to your room after a night out in the energetic bars.

Although not located directly on the beach, the rooms are so close that you can hear the ocean waves and smell the fresh and salty seaside air! Within moments of stepping out of your room, you can feel the powdery sand beneath your toes and see the dazzling blue of the sea right in front of you. Bliss! And, if you want to take away more than memories, photographs, and a sun tan, there is a tattoo shop opposite the hotel’s restaurant.
