When staying for just a day or two, I prefer to stay in a more luxurious hotel. Nevertheless, when you plan to stay in Bali for more than a week, you may start to think about a budget-friendly option. Surely there are many budget hotels in Canggu; however, you’ll still want to stay in a hotel with high quality amenities. As you arrive and get your welcome drink in the lobby (iced tea), you will be shown to your room and on the way you will notice how this newly built hotel is full of creative designs.

You won’t find the traditional Balinese wooden walls or thatched roofs like many hotels across the island, but instead you will see two long swimming pools stretching from one end to the other of the building, parallel to the back door of the rooms on the first floor!

Rooms with pool access

This hotel has 77 rooms, located on the first to third floor. Rooms are compact but tidy and clean and each is equipped with amenities that include an en-suite bathroom, complimentary Wi-Fi, a TV, safe, as well as a coffee maker.

The complimentary breakfast buffet is served in the hotel’s restaurant, Seaduction, and it includes fried rice, noodles, bread and juice. They also have an egg station where the chef will cook omelettes for guests. The menu changes daily, so if you stay for more than a day you will have different items every morning.

Do not hesitate to tell the staff if you are a vegetarian or if you have any dietary requirements, as they will cook a special dish for your breakfast.

For lunch or dinner, this restaurant serves quality options at affordable prices. If you are looking for Asian and Western food, you should decide to have lunch or dinner in the hotel! Try their sweet and savory spaghetti with crab for only 3 USD (39,507 IDR).

The restaurant is located on the rooftop. It’s a semi-open restaurant, and since it is located on the 4th floor with a nice view of the ocean. After your activities for the day, why not spend the evening here while stargazing and having a beer?

One of the many considerations when choosing a hotel is location, and you hit the jackpot with Frii Hotel. It’s only about a 5 to 10 minute walk to Echo Beach, known for its dark sand and ideal waves for surfing. Nearby, you’ll also find eating spots like the Batu Bolong’s beach lounge The Lawn, the vegetarian friendly The Shady Shack, and the Indonesian restaurant Monggo. These eateries are open till very late at night (around 1 am), so you won’t go hungry!
