With a city as beautiful as Portland, Oregon it makes sense to stay in a tranquil and lovely hotel. Tucked into an exclusive part of Portland is the RiverPlace area. Condos, restaurants, a marina, and parks surround this development. The design is so clever you hardly know you are in the middle of Portland.

Thoughtful amenities

Guests lucky enough to stay at the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel will enjoy an ‘urban lodge’ design to lure them into a comfort zone they won’t want to leave. The reception area is small and personal. The lobby area features a comfortable sitting area by the fireplace. With only 82 guest rooms and suites to choose from the reception area is not overwhelmed at check in time. Checking in is a breeze and there are usually complementary snacks and flavored water to refresh you.

For room choices, the starting lineup is the deluxe room. At 350 sq ft/32.5 sq m this room is spacious and has a city view and courtyard view. Each room comes with a yoga mat, luxury Atelier Bloem bath products, free local calls, and access to a DVD library for children.

Amenities include plush robes, daily coffee and tea service in the lobby, a daily pass to 24 Hour Fitness, free local calls, newspapers, and Kimpton’s wellness/entertainment program with complimentary bicycles. The next room choice up the list is a deluxe riverfront room. Watch the action on the Willamette River from the comfort of your room as boats of all sizes come and go.

The sweet life in a river view suite

Step up your luxurious stay with a specialty suite. There are five suites designed for your discriminating selection. An Executive suite provides views of the river, courtyard, or city. A refrigerator and mini-bar are there for snacks and in-room libations. With a full 500 sq ft/46.45 sq m you can truly feel the comfort of the ‘urban lodge design’.

The Grand Suite is perfect for families with its multi-room layout. A spacious 1,100 sq ft/102.2 sq m suite will provide plenty of space for entertaining, meal preparation, and small business meetings. This exclusive suite also has big views of the Willamette River for quiet contemplation. For long-term stays consider the Marina View Suites. These suites have most of the comfort and amenities of home. Full kitchens, washer and dryers, wood-burning fireplaces, and full-size refrigerators make this suite a home-away-from-home. Located in a private wing of the hotel grounds these ultimate suites provide soothing tranquillity.

All guests enjoy the nightly hosted wine reception in the lobby with wines from the Pacific Northwest paired with appetizers from Three Degrees Restaurant. Local beers are available for craft beer fans during this nightly reception.

Pets get a warm welcome

Each guestroom and suite are equipped with coffee makers and Starbucks coffee. Pets are welcome at all Kimpton hotels. That means any number of your furry friends with no fee, no weight restriction, and no size limit. Pets are even welcome to join the nightly wine reception and can accompany their favorite humans to dinner at Three Degrees restaurant on a special pet-allowed section of the outside patio. With two parks near the hotel, your dog will enjoy exploring the city with you in tow.

Three Degrees restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. A favorite of visitors and locals alike, this river-view eatery serves up delicious seasonal and local fare. Chef Lauro Romero and his crew will impress you with both innovative and comfort foods like a deviled egg starter topped with crab and trout roe, lamb ribs with guajillo sauce, or the classic Steak Frites.

If you are looking for other restaurants and activities you won’t have far to go. The Portland Art Museum is about a ten minute walk away, as is Pioneer Square. Dozens of world-class restaurants and food trucks are within a fifteen minute walk away. A two minute walk along the Riverplace Marina takes you to Upstream Coffee, Il Terrazzo, McCormick’s and Schmick, and Little River Café for more dining choices. On sunny warm days, most of these restaurants have alfresco dining and a sizeable following.

A new favorite place to stay in Portland

Rounding out the appeal of Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel is their event and meeting facilities. Eleven meeting rooms catering to the needs of 10 to 230 invited guests are ready for your special function. Three Degrees restaurant provides all catering for meetings in these venues with top quality food and service.

Friendly service, attention to detail, central location, and spotlessly clean, the RiverPlace Hotel is sure to become your favorite place to stay in Portland.
