Hungry for breakfast and visiting Portland for the weekend? We have narrowed down our favorite spots for hanging out, pigging out, and getting your caffeine fix on the weekend. Here are the best breakfast or brunch options you can find in Portland!

1. Sweedeedee

Sweedeedee is a great local spot for a sweet morning snack, salad, or sandwich. It has a cozy, bright atmosphere with a rustic look inside. For those who want to linger, this may not be your place as it is small and does tend to gather a wait. However, if you come early enough you can lounge around with no wait and enjoy your breakfast at a leisurely pace. They offer a variety of baked goods, from pies to scones to pieces of bread and quiche. Their delicious menu items start at only 3 USD. For that price, you can afford to try everything they have! You can also try their soup of the day, and as they change their menu up often, you will never get bored coming here again and again — there are always new options to choose from! The coolest thing about this place though is their record player that controls the store’s music. It is on display, and you can sit near it and even request some music!

Made famous from being featured on Man Versus Food, this is already a place many are dying to try! Lined with counter seats, a diner-like atmosphere, and friendly staff, this local favorite gets the best breakfast award! The mancakes are a house favorite here; they are basically huge pancakes and start as low as 3.50 USD. Why not stop by and try them out? If pancakes aren’t your thing, they also have delicious breakfast sandwiches, French toast, waffles, hashes, omelettes, and even fruit options. Something for anyone and everyone at this local spot.

How can you go wrong? At Waffle Window you can order whatever type of waffle suits your fancy — sweet, savory, salty, or all three! 6. Screen Door

Happy weekend! Tomorrow: Running Shamrock Run Portland. Today: Carbo-loading at Screendoor Restaurant.

Posted by Cassidy Quinn on Saturday, 12 March 2016

Probably the most popular choice on our list, Screen Door, has rave reviews from many locals and frequently has lines down the block from its location in Portland. This is mostly thanks to their incredible Southern soul food, which consists of their fried chicken and waffles, pies, French toasts with fresh fruit, eggs Benedict, cinnamon roll, biscuits and gravy, egg dishes, salads, meats, and the list goes on! Besides having an extremely varied menu and generous portions, the staff has been ranked as some of the friendliest service staff in Portland. With dishes starting at 6.95 USD, there is really no reason to keep reading; get there early to avoid or beat the crowd!
