Spread across 25-acre (11-hectare), Bryan C. Pottberg Park is small but very well kept and can make a great choice for kids. This is because it has a firefighter-themed playground, which makes it very fascinating particularly for the kids. There are swings, walking trails and other playground equipment. The park was developed as a tribute to 25-year-old Bryan C. Pottberg, a dedicated firefighter, who unfortunately drowned at the time of a water rescue training exercise. Local 2195 in collaboration with the Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation Department planned this park. There is also a memorial area that has a statue along with an inlay having the emblem representing the firefighters.
