This cenote is larger than Xkeken, and its view is almost magical. It is perfect for a swim, and you will also get lovely spots for your picture backdrops around it. Samula is enclosed with a small hole that allows rays of light to shine directly down the water, highlighting its blue color and tree roots at the bottom. You can place your valuables around the second level of the stone steps that come into the cenote or in any of the lockers.

This cenote is one of the most impressive in Valladolid. The melodic sound of chirping birds and flying bats combined with the beauty of the clear waters gives you an altogether relaxing experience. The site is smaller than Samula. It has an opening through which natural light comes in, and apart from that, it is almost completely closed. Though the stairs are slippery, there are lifeguards around to help. There are also lockers where valuables can be safely stored.

This cenote is peaceful and not too crowded, giving it a very serene feel. The steps carved from the rock lead to the underground cave. A small opening at the top lets natural light get in, and within, there are lights, strategically positioned around. The water is incredibly bright and warm, just the right kind for a dip. There is a guide on-site to help with whatever needs might arise, and there are lockers for storing valuables.

The Deer House is not your regular museum, as it is housed inside a private mansion. It boasts an extensive collection of Mexican folk-art products. You can feel the pieces because they are not housed in glass. The colorful collections carefully arranged in the various rooms and along the corridor will keep you raving for weeks after seeing them. There is a guided tour in English or Spanish to give further details on each piece and the history.

Located on the south of the main square, the Church of San Servicio is an architectural masterpiece. Built by Priest Francisco Hernandez in 1545, the church is a barrel vault cathedral-style building. It was demolished in 1705 and restored in 1706 to its present state. The beauty of the colonial architecture and historic pieces maintained within the building make it a great spot to visit.

This monument is dedicated to Jose María Iturralde Traconis, who was the governor of Yucatan from 1924 to 1926. He died in a car crash a few months after leaving office in 1926. The monument is nestled on the left side of Cathedral San Servicio. José María Iturralde Traconis had an enormous affection for the City of Valladolid, where he was from.

Chichen Itza is an ancient Mayan city located 45 minutes west of Valladolid, and which is best explored in the mornings. Sitting on (10 sqm) (107.6 sq.ft) of land, the ruins of Chichen Itza are a beauty to behold. You will see an ancient city which was named after the two big cenotes which gave water to the town. Sinkholes formed the cenotes in a limestone formation. In 1988, the region was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Located in the middle of the city, this cenote is perfect for a swim. Unlike most cenotes, Cenote Zaci is only half covered, with the other half open to natural light from the sky. The clear water is deep, reaching a depth of 100m (328ft) at some points. The rock walls are covered in lush greenery with stalagmites and stalactites hanging down.

This gallery is an incredible collection of art located in a “colonial Casona.” It houses exquisite indigenous art of Mexico alongside contemporary natural fabrics. There are also ancient handmade textiles and embroidery which display local specialties with serious artisanship. There is a lovely little garden that sells honey, local chocolate, and sauces.
