A suburb of Wollongong, on the south coast of New South Wales, Austinmer is located in the north of the Illawarra region, between Coledale and Thirroul. Austinmer Beach, located just 25 minutes north of the central business district, is one of Wollongong’s most famous beaches. It has two large rock pools on the southern rock platform and is also known as a picnic area.
The Surf Club and other amenities are found in the south half of this 250-meter (820.2-foot) long beach.
