Bielefeld is the most populous city in the Regierungsbezirk Detmold region of Germany. There are a total of seven universities here, with over 35,000 students. Besides the people, there is also incredibly beautiful nature to be found here, in the form of the Teutoburg Forest, which offers panoramic views of the city.
Bielefeld also has a bit of an interesting history due to an internet conspiracy that circulated during the early 90s that claimed that the city didn’t actually exist and was just an illusion. Although the city is very much alive and well, this conspiracy has since been incorporating into a variety of marketing campaigns and the local residents now embrace the joke!

This elegant apartment was renovated in late 2015 and is in a quiet residential area, just a 15-minute walk to the Teutoburger Wald. The nearest transport option is just five minutes away and so it is in a fantastic location to explore the local bakery, pubs and town amenities.

This is a peaceful and cosy guestroom in an old building, which is located on the same floor as the host and her son but has private access. It is worth noting that in order to gain access to the kitchen and shower room you will need to enter the hosts’ apartment area, however, there is a guest toilet in the hallway. It is possible to walk to the city centre in 15 minutes and there are two parks nearby for you to enjoy.

This basic site is unique for our listings in that you need to bring your own bedding with you. There is also no shower on site, you’ll need to visit the local swimming pool to shower.
