Have you ever wondered how it feels to wake up in the heart of the most beautiful city in the world, and open your eyes to the magnificent view of Saint Mark’s Basilica? Now you can, even if you are not a noble Venetian of the sixteenth century! I would like to introduce you to the Bed & Breakfast that will make your dreams come true, making it possible to fully have an experience in Venice on an affordable budget: Relais Piazza San Marco.

Wake up in Venice’s beating heart!

As a matter of fact, Venice is quite an expensive city, especially around the tourist attractions of cultural interest, like San Marco Square and Rialto Bridge. But Relais Piazza San Marco is a rare pearl among the many accommodations in Venice. This lovely Bed & Breakfast offers, in fact, a wide range of package discounts which can permit different people to have a 5-star hotel experience, without asking for a mortgage to afford it. It is possible to find rooms at 100 EUR (approximately 110 USD) per night, with breakfast included.

The Relais is divided into two twin historic buildings, and is entirely decorated and furnished in an old Venetian style. All the rooms have a specific colour and theme that recreate a noble, yet royal atmosphere. You will feel like you are living in a fairytale scenario, which also makes it the perfect place for a honeymoon!

Sleep in a room that feels like a fairytale!

The rooms are very tidy, and you can find a furnished mini-bar at a normal price, containing very good quality prosecco, and a wide range of beer brands. The bathrooms are also very elegant and modern, providing everything you need (hairdryer, shampoo, towels etc.).

If you are lucky enough, you will get the room facing the top of Saint Mark’s Basilica, and will have a view of the busy square from your window. It is literally possible to lay in your bed and enjoy the show outside the window, feeling you are at the top of the Basilica between all the people there. It is amazing to have quite a view in the centre of the city for such an affordable budget: almost difficult to believe, but true.

Stay comfortable in bed, enjoying the panorama outside the window!

Have a look outside your window and enjoy the view of lot of different people sitting in Venice’s ancient and famous cafés. From the hotel it is in fact possible to easily see the sitting area of the renovated Caffè Florian and Caffè Quadri. If you are not interested in spending a lot of money to sit there and have a coffee, than just stay in your room and experience it from a short distance.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast, right there in your room! But the best part of the stay is absolutely the room service breakfast!

In fact, the Relais has no restaurant or dining area: all the guests receive their breakfast directly to their room. The food choices are incredible, and there are no limits on how many things you can order. Customers are provided with a form to fill the night before, which you hang out on the door in the morning. Italian coffee, croissants, orange juice, fresh fruits… There is something to suit everyone’s taste, even the pickiest ones. Having breakfast in a comfortable bed, looking at Saint Mark’s Square, is something that everybody should try!

Try a VIP experience riding a water taxi through the lagoon!

The Relais is located a few meters from San Marco’s square, on Mercerie street. It is a busy area, facing a lot of interesting luxury shops, glass factories, and local restaurants. You have everything you need around you, but it is always a better idea to go looking for hidden restaurants in small lateral calles, normally the places where the locals go to eat. In Venice, appearance is just illusory, and most of the times places which seem to be the fanciest and most attractive, are usually significantly expensive and have low quality food. Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square) is easily accessible, with different modes of transportation.

From the airport in Venice you can take the Alilaguna, that will bring you exactly to Saint Mark’s Square, and will cost you around 15 euros each (16.41 USD). Another option is a water taxi that is more expensive, but also a completely different experience. Normally from the airport, the ride costs in total around 120 euros (132 USD), but it is a very entertaining experience since it brings you in hidden channels inside the city. Doing so, you can start your experience in Venice even before arriving at your destination. It is very expensive indeed, however for those travelling in groups, and wanting to share the ride, the water taxi can contain up to 12 people. Moreover, there is also the possibility to arrive from Piazzale Roma, where the bus station is. From there you can easily take a vaporetto towards San Marco for 7 euros per person (7.66 USD).
