A real Navajo experience: Nizhoni Hogan in Monument Valley, Oljato

Experience the true lifestyle of a Navajo by staying in this historic log cabin. One of the core beliefs of the Navajos is being connected back to Earth, and this simple way of living is one way for them to express their way of life. The interior resembles a simple hut that can accommodate up to 4 people. Comfortable double beds are provided. Although there is a lack of air-conditioning, it does not get too hot even if the temperature is boiling outside, and the heater can be turned on during the colder months to keep you snug and cosy inside. Horseback tours are available upon request, and you can ride around the Corkscrew Canyon, basked in sunlight, with the warm hosts, Jennifer and Mark. Alternatively, drive up to the welcome centre of Monument Valley to register for scenic drives around if you wish to cover more ground. Enjoy the end of a fulfilling day with traditional Navajo tacos outside the house, immersed in darkness as you watch the stars and Milky Way envelope the looming mountains.
