The Agonda Beach is picturesque, quiet and wide. The northern side of this beach has a turtle center that protects the priceless Olive Ridley eggs. But, if you are planning to take a leisurely swim here, avoid it. The beach shelves are quite steep during the high tides and even the surf may be rough here. However, the beach is ideal for a lazy day or a stroll when the sun sets. In short, Agonda Beach defines the beauty of Goa in the best possible manner. It is a public beach in Agonda village and approximately 9.2 km (5.7 miles) from South Goa’s Palolem Beach. You can reach here within an hour or so from Margao. In September, the beach serves as a nesting ground for the sea turtles.
