Gaspar’s Restaurant is one of those remarkable restaurants that, whether you are near or far, you always find yourself dreaming of. The chef and owner of Gaspar’s Restaurant — Gaspar Fernandez — produces stellar food with flavors not typically found in Lithuania. In fact, they are inspired by Gaspar’s roots in India and the UK. If you are seeking a memorable meal, don’t pass up brunch, lunch, or dinner at Gaspar’s during your time in Vilnius.

Brilliant brunches

Brunch at Gaspar's

Seeking to dine on award-winning food at a reasonable price for brunch? Gaspar’s has you covered for all of your Sunday brunch needs. Book yourself a table for any weekend brunch event and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the offerings. During my visits (yes, there were multiple), I heartily enjoyed the banana pancakes with fresh fruit, which only have a hint of banana flavor and are served with a coconut dipping sauce that you may secretly want to lick clean, and might actually do if no one is looking!

Another delicious dish on the brunch menu are the chickpea fritters that sit on a bed of hummus and are topped with crunchy radishes, pomegranates, cilantro, and a delicious, green fennel sauce. The twist on an English breakfast is also incredibly flavorful and unlike any English breakfast I’ve eaten before. The English breakfast is certainly a hearty option that comes with a perfectly fried egg on a slice of naan, delicious sausages, and spiced edamame. A vegetarian option of this spectacular English breakfast dish is also on the menu.

Business lunches

Interior of Gaspar's Restaurant

Though I’ve not had the chance to dine at Gaspar’s Restaurant for lunch, I know he puts together an amazing business lunch that will certainly impress if you are having a lunch meeting or are looking for a spot to dine after a morning of sightseeing. Lunch is a set menu of three courses that changes frequently and may include specials like chicken soup, slow cooked beef with Indian spices, and mango cream dessert. Another set lunch menu features carrot and coriander soup, duck breast, and exotic fruit sorbet. Vegetarians will be happy to know that lunch menus feature both a meat and vegetarian option — and both sound equally delicious.

Delectable dinner

Dinner at Gaspar's

Dinner is another excellent option for a relaxing, romantic meal at Gaspar’s. Though the menu changes frequently, you could be dining by candlelight on some of the best duck you’ve ever eaten, with hints of Indian spices and dollops of amazing purees or a warming bowl of curry. The chicken with rice is also an amazing meal that takes a typically uninspiring chicken and rice dish to a whole new level.

The wine selection at Gaspar’s is also wonderful and you can ask the knowledgeable staff for a suggestion to compliment your meal.

Desserts with a twist

Dessert at Gaspar's

Do save room for a dessert at Gaspar’s because they are stand-out. Desserts also change seasonally, but if tarragon ice cream is on the menu — order it! I was rather skeptical about this dessert, but my husband ordered it and it was difficult to eat only one bite! Other fabulous desserts include chocolate almond cake with black pepper cream and a lemon tart with mascarpone and hazelnut. I’m also a big fan of the caramel cheesecake with delicious crumbled toppings that have such a nice melt in the mouth texture.

A restaurant not to be missed

Rated one of the ten best restaurants in Lithuania and included on the famous Nordic White Guide, Gaspar’s is a must-eat restaurant in Vilnius. Because it is so loved by locals and visitors alike, I’d suggest reserving a table for their business lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch either via phone or on their Facebook page. And don’t worry about breaking the bank on a meal or two at Gaspar’s — the prices are wallet friendly!
