The brunch trend has finally made its way to Lithuania and has certainly hit the crowds hard in Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital. There are now several places to stop for a leisurely bite to eat, but the restaurants mentioned below are sure to hit the spot.

Holy Donut
As the name suggests, Holy Donut is an all day hang-out serving a wide variety of tasty donuts as well as bagels, bagel sandwiches, and freakshakes. Delicious donuts that I have to recommend are the vegan chocolate donuts either topped with strawberries or pistachio. The current seasonal donuts that Holy Donut has on offer are lemon-filled donuts and apple fritters — both are delicious.
Visitors seeking a brunch and work date will be glad to know that Holy Donut has fast, free Wi-Fi and ample seating areas both downstairs and upstairs. The coffee will also keep you fueled as you start your day.
Baigelistai
Baigelistai is a quiet corner bagel shop, which serves coffee and tasty bagel sandwiches. The large comfortable couch and numerous smaller tables accommodate couples, groups of friends, and families. Adorning the wall at Baigelistai are large bookshelves stocked with Lithuanian and English books, which you can feel free to peruse during your visit.
Baigelistai is a good option for a light brunch of a toasted bagel with cream cheese or a delicious bagel sandwich like one served with tomato, mozzarella, and pesto. A cappuccino is the perfect drink to wash the bagel down with.
Sugamour
For a more luxurious and feminine champagne brunch, visit Sugamour. Sugamour’s menu really screams affordable luxury as the meals are tasty and the atmosphere is romantic, yet the prices aren’t going to break the bank. On the menu, you can expect to find cottage cheese pancakes topped with fresh fruit, eggs Benedict, omelettes, and more. The chocolate croissants are also scrumptious.
To finish off your brunch, Sugamour’s display case of colorful desserts is sure to catch your eye — who says you can’t have dessert for brunch! Any of their caramel or chocolate cakes are to die for, and the new honey cake is also delicious.
To top the whole brunch experience off at Sugamour, the indoor and outdoor seating is very Instagrammable. Outside, they’ve adorned the building with delicate, fake cherry trees in bloom. Inside, both the upstairs and downstairs features comfortable bench seating, beautiful bouquets of flowers, and great lighting.
Cafe Montmartre
To finish off our delectable brunch list, we cannot forget the restaurant that started the trend — Cafe Montmartre. This cute restaurant immediately transports you to its namesake neighborhood of Paris, and the food further adds to this atmosphere.
On the menu at Cafe Montmartre, you’ll find delicious croque madame (a toasted ham and cheese sandwich topped with an egg and sauce), omelettes, and crepes with Nutella and whipped cream. If you are having a hard time choosing which delicious item on the menu to order, I have to suggest the croque madame because it is a really substantial meal that even comes with a small salad.
If the weather is nice, sitting outside on one of their cozy tables is a nice option since the popular tourist street of Ausros Vartu is nearby. People-watching over a tasty brunch with friends is great at Cafe Montmartre.
Delicious food, wonderful sightseeing
After savoring a delicious brunch at one of these fine restaurants, you’ll be fueled to start a day of sightseeing in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vilnius’ old town. Make sure to visit at least one of Vilnius’ marvelous churches, walk along the Neris River, and swing by the creative republic of Uzupis.
