You and your friends will absolutely enjoy the feel of aloha!
Drink, eat, and have a good conversation at Kona Brewing Co.
Located on the East side of Waikiki, Kona Brewing Company is found in Koko Marina. Koko Marina is a shopping center located in Hawaii Kai, next to Maunalua and Hanauma Bays. It has over 60 businesses from restaurants, cafes, boutiques, a movie theater, and water sports. It is open daily from 10:00am to 10:30pm, and Kona Brewing Company is open from 11:00am to 10:00pm.
Kona Brewing Company is also a restaurant in Koko Marina; with both indoor and outdoor seating. You can choose to dine indoors or you can choose to dine outdoors; feeling the nice sea breeze while you chat, drink, and eat.
Brewing since 1994, “Kona Brews are Liquid Aloha,” says Kona Brewing Company. Each Kona Brewing Company’s beer is inspired by Hawaiian Islands, history, landscapes, and culture. Each beer is unique in its Hawaiian way, and has a story of its own. If you take a look at this beautiful menu (yes, even the menu is unique. It is a finely put together wooden menu), you can learn all the beers Kona Brewing Company offers.
As well as the taste, you see in the menu that each are given very Hawaiian names, such as Big Wave, Long Board, Kua Bay, and Black Sand to just name a few. In addition, for those who have dietary restrictions, such as sensitivity to gluten, you can ask the server for gluten-sensitive beer. There are indeed a lot to chose from, so if you are lost, why don’t you ask the servers what they recommend and you can just go from there.
Let’s try the shaka recommendations!
You might just like to drink beer at Kona Brewing Company, but it is not a bad idea at all to try what they offer for food as well. They have anything from pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches, and desserts so even non-drinkers can enjoy dining here. Of course, they offer soft drinks as well, including guava juice, lemonade, and whatever you are in the mood for.
So, what shall we eat? Well, if you are not sure what to choose from, you can look in the menu for some items with the shaka sign. For those of you who are not familiar with Hawaiian culture, it is the hand signal you see a lot of Hawaiian people use. The shaka sign is originated from Hawaiian surf culture, and it represents “Aloha Spirit,” friendship, understanding, compassion, and solidarity. At Kona Brewing Company, the food items with the shaka sign are the recommended items, so if you are not sure what to try, try the item with a shaka sign. The picture above is a sandwich with pork, which uses the local Hawaiian way of cooking. If you are there to try Hawaiian beer, why not try Hawaiian style food as well!

Surf culture around the restaurant

Something so attractive to travelers at Kona Brewing Company is the atmosphere the restaurant provides.
