Montreal, France is a great area to do some sightseeing. It is a commune just south of Carcassonne with a population of just under 2,000 residents. Because the area is so old, there are beautiful churches to see as well as some old structures like bridges and towers. One particular sight that should not be missed is the medieval citadel located in Carcassonne known as La Cité. The first walls were built in in the early 400 AD, with major additions made in later centuries. Another attraction is within the walls of the Cite, known as Château Comtal, which was built in the twelfth century. This offers exhibits and tours every day of the week. Both of these attractions are for those that love learning a little bit of history when they travel. To taste the light sensations that are French baked goods, Ramon Michel is a fantastic place to go. This bakery has croissants, baguettes, pastries and other assorted goodies for those in the area.
