This park is 26 hectares (64.24 acres) and it has stroller-friendly walkways and a playground which can be accessed from the MRT. Maokong is a must-see destination, especially for students. The site has cabins of cable cars making their way to the waved horizon of the nearby hills, this scenery is to be seen every day. You may also find interest in the teahouses on the top of the mountains and the tea plantations which will remind you of the times when Maokong was a large-scale, tea-growing area. A few meters from final gondola station, you will also find hiking paths going through the fields. Fort San Domingo is a tourist destination that is steeped in history. The fort was built by Spanish settlers during 1629 when they used wood as the main material. Eight years later the fort was rebuilt with stone after several locals destroyed it. Renamed in 2005 as the Former British Consular Residence, it is now one of the most visited museums in the city.
