Southern California is best known for its sunny weather and beaches, as well as being the home of Hollywood. However, this area has a lot more to offer. There are plenty of amusement parks that you can find here, including Disneyland Park, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios Hollywood.

Sequoia National Park, meanwhile, features various terrains, including mountains, canyons, and caves. Hiking trails are aplenty if you want to explore the area on foot. You can also head to Death Valley National Park, which is considered the hottest and driest national park and where you’ll find sand dunes.

While Southern California is known for its sunshine, it also features various ski locations such as Bear Mountain Ski Resort and Mt. Baldy Resort, ideal for a fun winter holiday. Scroll down to find out more about the top ski resorts in Southern California if you want to hit the slopes!

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and access to ski slopes and equipment. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on April 14, 2024.

Boasting its highest peak at an altitude of 8,600 feet (2621.28 meters), Mt. Baldy Resort is ideal for thrill-seekers and features as many as 26 trails of different difficulty levels. The exciting trails can be accessed by four ski lifts. Moreover, there’s a Flow Zone where beginners can benefit from lessons and tips from the staff or get help with equipment.

You can book one of the private tent-style cabins with queen beds if you want to spend your ski holiday here. Yurt-style bunkhouses are also available for larger groups. Alternatively, book a fully furnished cabin with modern amenities such as a TV, heater, and WiFi.

Ski equipment is available for rent as well, but make sure to reserve them ahead of time since the resort’s rental inventory is small. Be aware that the weather can quickly change, so always check the conditions to make sure it’s safe to travel, or if you need to install snow chains.
