Jambon beurre sandwich has got to be the first on the list, as it is a favourite street food among tourists and locals. This is a perfect blend of salted butter and ham served on a fresh baguette. A billion of them were sold in France in 2013. Extra ingredients such as cornichons add a crunchy taste to the simple sandwich. Dry bread with meat used to be lunch for factory workers since it was something they could eat quickly. Eventually, plain bread was replaced by baguette and it formed a staple food in France.
