The Plage de la Grande Conque is one of the most beautiful sites in Cap d'Agde. The stunning site might seem like the least attractive of all attractions but it is truly beautiful. The Grande Conque is a volcanic Cap d'agde beach, with fine, black sand and fine pebbles. Surrounding the beach are cliffs which break off into two sets of stacks known as Les Deux Frères, otherwise known as two brothers. When the weather is in your favor, this is a perfect beach to frolic around in. Even if the weather is wild, you can stand atop the cliffs and watch the waves crash against the base of the cliffs with great force.

Casino Barriere is set in the leisure area of Cap d'Agde which is also home to several restaurants, bars, the family-friendly Luna Park and much more. The casino which opens at 10 a.m. every day allows free entry only for adults with an ID on them. The casino features almost about 150 slot machines and video pokers. The aquarium in Cap d'Agde is completely natural and relies only on sea water for its water supply to sustain marine creatures. This aquarium has been renewed and serves a good attraction for everyone, especially young kids. The aquarium is built around three themes and the indoor attraction takes slightly over an hour. Presenting the Mediterranean fauna such as murres and seahorses, the aquarium is also home to tropical creatures such as turtles, corals, and sharks. Constructed very closely to the natural habitats of this marine life, the presentation of all these exhibits are of high quality.

8. Visit Musée de l’Éphèbe

Cap d'Agde is famous for Musée de l’Éphèbe, which is an underwater archaeology museum overlooking the beautiful harbour in Cap d'Agde. This museum was opened in 1987 and consists of 3 galleries; a modern gallery, a bronze gallery, and an antique gallery. The modern gallery contains exhibits like medieval ceramics, ammunition from the royal fleet, and shipwrecked cargoes dating back to the 17th century. The antique gallery consists of items from the maritime trade as well as ancient boats. The bronze gallery is especially impressive as it houses ancient bronzes. The museum derives its name from one exclusive item in the museum, the l’Éphèbe d’Agde, which is a late-Hellenistic bronze statue of a young man, purported to be Alexander the Great.

14. Visit a World Heritage Site

Canal du Midi is a 240-kilometer (150-mile) long waterway which stretches from Toulouse to Sète and was constructed in the 17th century. It is one of its kind in the world and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Adge lies towards the end of the Canal du Midi just before ending at Sete. As such, this site can be visited while at Cap d'Agde. The canal is mainly used as a transportation route for irrigation as well as tourism. Visitors can take a boat ride along the canal and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city from this world heritage site.

What is unique about this canal at Agde is that the Agde lock is the sole round lock on the canal. This has been made out of volcanic rock and extends over three varying depths. This feature allows boats to navigate in different directions, heading further to Béziers towards Toulouse, Thau lagoon and the town of Agde.

Unlike surfboarding, stand-up paddle boarding, otherwise known as SUP does not require hours of learning how to fall off the board; instead, the trickiest part of SUP would be learning how to keep your balance. A one-hour introductory lesson will get you up and paddling with confidence, and after mastering the basics, you can proceed with playing games in groups on the water. Anyone over the age of eight can participate and the only other requirement is to know how to swim.
