The marble statue, the highlight of the place, depicts a figure of Aurelio Saffi who was a significant political figure in the country and worked for the unification of the country. The San Mercuriale Abbey is a church in the city of Forli and is the main religious building of the city, located in the main square Piazza Saffi. The church building is gorgeous and looks awesome in the night lights, and with the square in the background it does give a great photo op. The church is built in the Roman architecture style and the façade is plain but attractive, and there is also an immense bell tower that dominates the skyline of Forli.
