Japan has plenty of hot springs, but some of them are truly unique. One such is the sand hot spring “Tsuru-no-ongaeshi Yomigaeri Inn Kakureisen” located in Saga prefecture’s Furuyu Onsen. The hot water springs out from a bedrock which is covered with sand to protect it, therefore the water gushes directly through the sand! This place is not only unique but also very old – it has a history of over 2000 years and the famous poet Saito Mokichi also stayed here for a treatment. Relax in a lukewarm hot spring pool and refresh your body with new energy!
