Most readers probably want to relax their day to day stresses away with a hot onsen bath.

This time we take a look at Lake Kawaguchiko famous for having many leisure activities.

The biggest allure here is the amazing view of Mt. Fuji and relaxing in the surrounding nature.

Introducing the onsen inn Shuhoukaku Kogetsu where you get a view of Mt. Fuji from any room.

Fuji Kawaguchiko Onsen Shuhoukaku Kogetsu

By being recognized as a World Heritage Site in 2013 Mt. Fuji has only gotten more popular than ever.

Your soul gets cleansed just by observing the sight of Mt. Fuji’s rough terrain in the summer or the snowcapped splendor in winter.

The onsen inn we introduce today Kawaguchiko Shuhoukaku Kogetsu is famous for being one of the few inns with a view of the illustrious mountain from all the rooms as well as from the outdoor bath.

It is also popular because of the view from the lake shore and being able to see the seasonal faces of Mt. Fuji.

It is 13 minutes by car from Kawaguchiko IC and very close to Itchiku Kubota Art Museum as well as the grounds of the Kawaguchiko Momiji Matsuri Festival. When you enter the lobby you will see Mt. Fuji sitting in the distance from the large windows.

We’ll look at the outdoor bath, foot bath, and the room with a terrace.

The first thing you see from the room is Mt. Fuji and the outdoor bath!

The room we’ll look at is a corner room with an outdoor bath.

This is one of the luxurious rooms that have not only a view of Fuji like the others but also an outdoor bath, foot bath, and a spacious terrace.

The first thing that fills your eyes when stepping foot into the room is Fuji right in front of you and a large bath that 3~4 adults would fit in! It is so luxurious you almost gasp.

The hot spring water contains calcium, sodium, and sodium sulfate. It is really good for beautifying skin!

The outdoor bath on the terrace has a shower room next to it so first you shower before getting in to bathe while observing Mt. Fuji in its glory.

Relax on the balcony while viewing Mt. Fuji

This room has a tatami room that is 12 mats in space, a relaxation room, living room, terrace, outdoor bath, and even a foot bath.

The balcony is so spacious that kids can run around and play.

It has a roof on it so you can relax with beers and snacks on the table in any weather.

To take up so much space to view Fuji is the epitome of opulence. Have fun with the whole family.

Of course from the outdoor bath you can view Mt. Fuji without being disturbed by anyone.

With the foot bath you can let all your worries melt away as well.

The fantastic kaiseki cuisine that uses seasonal local ingredients

Dinner is mainly a kaiseki menu that uses mostly local ingredients.

Mostly it is served in the room. Every room has the option of dining in but they also can put you in a private room based on how many people are with you.

The meal doesn’t just taste good but is also beautiful to look at and is quite filling.

Breakfast is also served in the room but if you prefer you can head to the dining hall which also has a view of Fuji for a breakfast buffet.

From the breakfast hall you can venture outside to the garden, and you can get down to the shores of Lake Kawaguchiko for a stroll and some memorable photos.

One of the best merits of booking the room with an outdoor bath is that you can bathe in the hot spring anytime you like.

If you head out to balcony you can watch Fuji be colored by the rising sun and if lucky see the upside down Mt. Fuji.

Wake up early to be refreshed by a morning bath in some great hot spring water.

A stroll along the shores of the lake is also recommended.

In closing

So what do you think?

For those who want to forget the hustle and bustle and leisurely take a bath it is almost guaranteed that if you bathe in an onsen with a view of Mt. Fuji you will find serenity.

You can find many attractions at Lake Kawaguchiko year round and enjoy many delicacies such as Houtou noodles, or Shingenmochi! There are also many places to vist such as Fujikyu Highland theme park and others.

Make this one of the destinations for your next vacation.
