Take your family out to enjoy a day of playing and learning through various exhibits at Children’s Museum of Evansville. Help discover the next Mozart by playing on the classic piano or inspire children to become future playwrights or actors by performing alongside other like-minded children on the stage. Let them learn and experiment in the science lab or explore their creative side by painting or designing in Artmaker Studio. Please check out the following guide to Children’s Museum of Evansville to find out some of the interesting activities to keep your children captivated during your visit to Evansville, Indiana.

Things to do / Highlights

Spend time with your children as they learn new skills by visiting the numerous exhibits at the Children’s Museum. Watch as they enjoy group sing-a-longs, reading, playing with life-size chess pieces, and doing building projects. Hone their classical music skills by letting them test the keys on the piano or let them enjoy transforming into a butterfly or wildcat with face painting.

Artmaker Studio

Let your kids explore their creative side by visiting the art studio where they can pick a project such as sewing, painting, or building. Let them put their problem-solving skills to work when things don’t go right the first time during innovative sessions in the science lab.

Live Well

Educate children on how to be responsible for their wellness by introducing them to concepts such as preparing fresh food by planting and harvesting at Rainbow Bistro. Aid them in learning about how important it is to be healthy by having them visit Dr.’s Clinic. Give them time to see the newsroom to learn about the weather, news, and what to do in emergency situations.

Speak Loud

Let the little ones try acting out a play on the main stage and then watching it on TV. Indulge in reading sessions, playing music on the organ, or enjoying face painting sessions with vibrant colours and plenty of glitter.

Work Smart

Challenge children to learn how to construct miniature vehicles, build paper planes, and race down a ramp just like an Indy 500 race car star. Help children learn skills early on to prepare them for future careers as engineers, pilots, and mechanics.

Travellers tips

Posted by Children's Museum of Evansville on Wednesday, October 7, 2020

To make the most of your visit to Evansville Children’s Museum, don’t forget to teach your kids how to be considerate of others while playing.

Snacks and drinks

There is a vending machine from which guests can purchase drinks to stay hydrated and full of energy during their many activities. However, make certain to pack some snacks or a quick lunch if you are staying a decent length of time since they don’t sell food items. This will keep your family energized for a day of exciting activities and to keep them from experiencing any undue anxiety.

Supervise your children

Since the museum is open to children of all ages, please make certain to supervise your children for their own safety. Parties can sometimes get out of hand and staff or other parents shouldn’t have to tell your children how to behave so as not to cause injury to other children, especially toddlers.

Strollers

Although strollers are welcome for those visiting with infants and toddlers, please make certain to keep them out of the way to prevent them from becoming a hazard. This can prove true in case of emergency situations, so it’s important to park them out of the way when not in use.
