In March 2014 “Kanazawa Sky Hotel” reopened as the newly born ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky. It’s located just 10 minutes away on foot from JR Kanazawa Station’s East exit and about 45 minutes away by bus from Komatsu Airport. There is a great view over Kanazawa city from the hotel lobby in this tall building. The interior is designed in brown for a relaxed atmosphere. Let me introduce this new hotel in details!
The front desk is on the 16th floor!
First you have to go up to the 16th floor where the hotel lobby is. Right after you step out of the elevator you will see a fantastic panorama view over Kanazawa city, the green park and Hakusan mountain range in the distance. Turn right and follow the corridor with big windows until you reach the light and warm hotel lobby. There is a big sofa where you can wait for other guests.
Next to the wooden book shelves you’ll see two concierge desks where you can proceed with the check-in. In most hotels you do this standing next to the front desk, but here you can sit down comfortably like a real celebrity .
It's up to you how to spend time in the lobby lounge
The lobby lounge is next to the concierge desks. You can sit on the sofa and enjoy the relaxing view outside. You can also have a meeting with another guest of the hotel. There is free Wi-Fi so you can bring your laptop and make plans for your trip. The lobby lounge is really gorgeous and you will like to spend some time here.
After 5 pm it becomes a bar lounge where you can have a drink watching the night panorama view of Kanazawa city.
The rooms are made for a comfortable sleep, well equipped with Simmons bed, mattresses and pillows
Take the card key to your room and return to the elevator. If you don’t hold your card key next to the black electronic panel in the elevator, it won’t stop on the guest rooms’ floor – a unique security system.
This author stayed at a superior single room, which is ideal for a single guest and even had a 500ml mineral water bottle left as a service. The most impressive thing in the room is the Simmons bed, mattress and pillows.
Despite the fact that it’s a single room there are several pillows to choose from – harder and softer. This is specially made for people who can’t sleep on a pillow that they’re not used to. Choose your preferred one and you’ll feel quite comfortable. The quilt is very soft, light and made of feathers so that you can sleep peacefully.
Japanese suite room where you can feel like a real celebrity
There are two types of suite rooms in ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky Hotel. The most recommended one is the “Japanese suite room” on the 15th floor. There are only 6 such rooms in the hotel. Beds are placed over tatami in this 36 square meter room, creating a specific Japanese atmosphere. The interior is designed in wooden brown like the hotel lobby. There is a big window in the bathroom which allows you to enjoy the panorama view of Kanazawa city while you’re in the bath tub.
The hotel's location is great for tourism and business trips!
Just across the hotel is the popular shopping district Omicho Market. Other famous sightseeing spots of Kanazawa like Kenrokuen (one of the three best gardens in Japan), Korinbo district and Nagamachi Samurai district are all within walking distance. The shopping center “Meitetsu M'Za” is directly connected to the hotel. City buses stop in front of it so this place is easily accessible.
