Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort has 43 floors and a rich variation of Western and Japanese style rooms.

Under the “hotel within a hotel” concept you can enjoy the “Luxurious Grande” first-class facilities: king’s ocean suite rooms between the 36th and 38th floors, and ocean grande suite rooms between the 36th and 41st rooms.

There is a separate front desk and concierge service for these rooms, and you can enjoy special treatment with cocktails, spa facilities and L'Occitane amenities. Breakfast and dinner can be eaten at “Miyazaki-shun kaiseki Toyotama” restaurant. During the off-season the prices are affordable so why not treat yourself with something luxurious?

Even the standard room is great! An elegant room with an ocean view

The standard type room is “Ocean Superior Twin”. Of course, it also has an ocean view and is as spacious as 50 square meters! A truly high-class hotel! Staying in such a hotel will definitely help you relax and welcome the morning with new energy. You can also explore Miyazaki or try on activities like golf and others.

Note: A big-scale repair works was announced by Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort. The improvement of the facility will end in the spring of 2015 when rooms and services under a new concept will appear. Looking forward to that!

The hot spring facility "Shosenkyu" uses water rich in minerals and fossil components from the ancient ocean

first-class hotel in miyazaki! sheraton grande ocean resort | the hot spring facility "shosenkyu" uses water rich in minerals and fossil components from the ancient ocean

There is a hot spring facility called “Shosenkyu” in the pine grove next to the hotel. Rich mineral water springs from 1000 meters under the ground. It contains dissolved fossil components from the ancient 10 million year old ocean. Therefore this hot spring water is salty and good for recovery from exhaustion, sensitivity to cold and joint pain. Shosenkyu consists of a large bath called “Tsukuyomi”, a mid-size bath called “Shingetsu” and 5 separate facilities. Even the pine grove path to the hot spring stimulates your senses and gives you a feeling of elegance. It is 230-meter long and you can walk to the hot spring in your yukata (light kimono) for a true resort-like experience.

The interior has been designed by experts specializing in Miyazaki’s folklore, history, art and local culture. It has the peculiar exotic taste of the local Hyuga myths. Surrounded by the pine trees and flowers, the hot spring is truly fascinating. It’s illuminated in the evening for an even stronger mystical atmosphere.

Note: On the photo you can see “Shingetsu” bath. The ceiling is decorated in the traditional Miyzaki “oshima-nuri” style and represents Japan’s four seasons. The hot spring facilities that you can enter differ according to your hotel room, so please check in advance on the official website.

For breakfast you can choose between "Miyzaki-shun kaiseki Toyotama" or the open "Pine Terrace"

for breakfast you can choose between "miyzaki-shun kaiseki toyotama" or the open "pine terrace"

“Pine Terrace” has a great location right next to the pine grove! The sun shines all over this restaurant where you can choose between a buffet style and a la carte menu. The open kitchen is equipped with Tandoori jar, pizza oven and a rotisserie. You will fully enjoy your meal no matter whether you prefer bread or rice. Here you can also try the local specialty of Miyzaki – cold soup. You will feel charged with energy already from the morning in this open and high-quality space!

In “Miyzaki-shun kaiseki Toyotama” you need to make a reservation until 5 pm the previous day in order to savor fresh seasonal ingredients served in a special Japanese way. This restaurant is recommended for those who prefer to enjoy their breakfast slowly and with a style. Steamed vegetables and other seasonal products will be served for a well-balanced breakfast.

See the morning sun, the setting sun, the moonlight reflected in the sea! Enjoy all possible ocean views!

At Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort you can enjoy views that are not seen in other city hotels. For example, the morning sun which makes the sea shine in red, or the setting sun over Kirishima mountain range. Every month during full moon guests can enter the ceremony hall “El Cielo” on the 43rd floor for free and watch the moonlight path on the sea.

Of course, the moonlight reflection can be seen also from the guest rooms. Lucky are those who spend an elegant and quiet evening under the full moon. Don’t you want to be one of them?
