Whether you are coming to Birmingham for a shopping frenzy or for a professional development conference, the Hyatt Regency Hotel, often referred to as The Wynfrey, is the perfect lodging choice.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and plenty of eating options are within walking distance. So, you can park once and do it all. The Hyatt Regency at the Riverchase Galleria is located in Hoover, which is a section of the Greater Birmingham area with a stellar reputation. In fact, Hoover is ranked in the Top 30 as one of the Best Places to Live in the United States. That fact adds to its allure as a great travel destination. This is also in the center of the state of Alabama, which makes it a natural choice for corporations and professional organizations to hold their conventions and conferences. When you factor in the proximity to dozens of name-brand retail stores, you find an accommodation that satisfies a wide variety of visitor needs.

With 331 guest rooms and suites, the Hyatt Regency is ready to demonstrate Southern hospitality to thousands of guests every year. The rooms feature luxurious Hyatt Grand Beds, large flat screen TVs, alarm clock radios, free Wi-Fi, desk areas, coffeemakers with a selection of Starbucks coffees, small refrigerators, an ironing board and iron. Bedding is by DownLite and includes chamber-style pillows and down comforters, both hypoallergenic. If guests choose to upgrade to Regency Level rooms, they also have the services of a private concierge, complimentary continental breakfast and complimentary evening snacks.

Rooms are accessed via several elevators near the reception desk, and valet or self-parking is available in the front of the hotel or in the basement level. When booking a room, a package that includes free parking is a good idea.

Guests may also use the gym, sauna and outdoor pool with beverage service.

Dogs up to 50 pounds (22.6 kg) are allowed in the guest rooms for an additional 100 USD fee for stays up to 6 nights in length. Reservations for guests bringing dogs must be made at least 3 days in advance. Wheelchair and handicap accessible rooms are also available.

Merk’s Tavern and Kitchen is located down the hall from the reception desk and is a convenient choice for breakfast or a late-night dinner. It is open from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The breakfast menu offers full Southern-style breakfasts as well as shrimp and grits, rolled oats, quinoa and smoothies. The all-day dining menu has a full range of small plates, salads, sandwiches, full meals and tempting Mason jar desserts.

The Hyatt Regency at Riverchase Galleria provides 32,000 square feet (2,973 square meters) of meeting rooms on two floors of the hotel with escalators and elevators connecting them and plenty of display area for vendors. The hotel also has two ballrooms that can accommodate up to 1,200 guests. A team of event planners help meet the needs of corporations, organizations or even family reunions.

The Riverchase Galleria that adjoins the Hyatt Regency has more than 150 retail stores, 25 of which are listed under eating and restaurants. The Food Court is directly below the mall entrance inside the hotel. Children will enjoy the carousel, and many seasonal events are planned throughout the year that attract large crowds.

Within a short walk through the revolving doors at the entrance, Olive Garden, Bonefish Grill and Outback Steakhouse have locations ready to welcome hungry guests. Unless it’s raining, there’s no need to drive.
