An Indonesian Island, Bali suggests ideas of sun, sea and paradise. Candidasa, a town in eastern Bali, offers a quieter, more traditional and authentic Bali, ideal for the more mature traveller. If this sounds right up your street then Crystal Beach Bali Hotel is for you! Located in Sengkidu Village alongside Crystal Beach, Crystal Beach Bali Hotel is a mere 1.5 km, approx 0.9 mi, away from Tape Kong Island and 60 km, approx 37 mi from the International Airport Bali.

There is limited beach access; however, the sea is beautiful and Crystal Beach offers fantastic opportunities for snorkeling and diving.

You will be more than pleasantly surprised with the incredibly high standards and impeccable service at this two star hotel.

Arrival through a bamboo forest

Crystal Beach Bali Hotel Garden

After driving through a bamboo forest you will be greeted into the garden of an incredibly sophisticated looking hotel. You may even notice the beautiful lagoon looking pool in the corner. The main reception is bright and airy and the dark wood furniture gives a real sense of traditional interior. Greeted by lovely staff who never fail to smile really makes you feel welcome and at ease. Multiple tours and guides are offered to guests of a minimum of two people. A daily shuttle bus is also offered to drive you the 4 km, approx 2.5 mi, into the main city centre, so you will have plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the day.

Modern and traditional bedroom

Standard Bedroom

Spread across three floors, 15 bedrooms are situated in the hotel. Five types of room are available, the cheapest being the family deluxe with a twin bed for 322,876 IDR, approx. 23 USD per night. The most expensive room being a one bedroom apartment for 661,157 IDR , approx. 47 USD per night. Of course if the price was split between two people it would be even cheaper. The hotel also offers various room discounts depending on the length of your stay.

The rooms are magnificent. The large panoramic like windows fill the room with light and surround you with picturesque views. Even though the windows are huge, the curtains work well at keeping the light out so you can insure yourself a good night sleep. The furniture is solid wood, the high bed gives a real sense of indulgence and the traditional bedding accessories ooze Balinese style.

Free Wi-Fi and a TV will leave you feeling right at home. A wardrobe and fridge are also provided and a phone to call down to reception. From experience, the door to get into the room is surprisingly heavy so you really have to give it a good push.

Indulgent Bathrooms

Open Bathroom

As expected from the style of the bedroom, the bathroom is simply glorious. With another huge window, you can really enjoy the views of the bamboo forest from one of the two showers. That’s right, two showers! With one hanging above the bath, the other is more of an open plan shower room. Shower time has never been so exotic!

Tiled from top to bottom, the bathroom sink is on a floating shelf topped up with soaps and plenty of toilet rolls.

Exotic Garden

Beautiful and exoc

Stepping out of main reception you are graced by tropical plants and flowers, which frame the sea. Walking along the path, plenty of stylish wooden seating is provided, which is incredibly inviting. My personal recommendation would be the bamboo beds that look out to sea.

Further along, still surrounded by flowers, is the lagoon like pool. Although small, it is simply gorgeous. With a statue spraying water from one end, swimming lengths won’t be ideal but cooling off from the sun is bliss.

Buffet Breakfast

relax in bliss: crystal beach bali hotel | buffet breakfast

Free of charge, a buffet breakfast is provided. Including fruit, noodles, toast and cereal which tends to vary each day. Unfortunately due to the forest location, ants are a common pest to find on your food. However, the staff are always very willing to make you something fresh.

A variety of drinks are also provided including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and limitless amounts of fresh juice. Lounging with a fresh juice in one hand, watermelon in the other and looking out to sea – perfect!

Impeccable hotel, impeccable price

Crystal Beach Bali Hotel is ideal for the more mature traveller or for those who want to sit back and enjoy paradise. Due to being twinned with Candidasa Backpacker, student travellers who want a more relaxed trip would also be well suited here. It’s stylish and modern interior with fantastic prices will leave you coming back time and time again. You may even question why it’s only rated two stars.
