2. Brent's Drugs (Soda Fountain)
Founded in 1946, Brent’s Drugs was originally a pharmacy featuring soda fountain, in Morgan Center, Mississippi’s first shopping center. Every Tuesday, Dr. Alvin Brent would keep the store open until 8 pm for shakes, cake and live music. Soon it became the favorite gathering spot of the neighborhood and got elevated to a burger bar. Today it still serves a variety of mouthful vintage dishes and milkshakes, from burgers and fried chicken to buttermilk pancakes and breakfast tacos. At the back of the diner, there is a bar called The Apothecary which has been named one of the best bars in the South.

4. Hal & Mal's
Harold and Malcolm White -“Hal” and “Mal”- wanted to create something that Jackson Mississippi haven’t seen back then in 1995. Both men had been initiated into the art of Gulf Coast-style cuisine by their aunts, but Hal was the one who took over the kitchen.
