Hakata district in Kyushu’s Fukuoka city is a leading touristic area. Many people come here to walk around the shops and eat, cutting on hotel costs in order to allocate more budget for eating. But staying in a brilliant hotel would certainly make your holiday even more enjoyable!
I recommend Hyatt Regency Fukuoka for the excitement it brings to travelers even only with its exterior. If you stay at the special Regency Club Floor, your holiday will become truly luxurious.

It looks like the sphinx! Hyatt Regency Fukuoka’s impressive design
A large green cylindrical building is surrounded by two rectangular smaller buildings from right and left.
Hyatt Regency Fukuoka, which opened 20 years ago, has a really impressive architectural design. It was created by the internationally acclaimed American architect Michael Graves.
The exterior looks like a giant sphinx. The middle part is the head while the surrounding buildings resemble the legs. Even if you haven’t noticed it till now, you’ll be amazed by the similarity when you look at the hotel next time.
The hotel lobby has a very tall vault!
The first thing you’ll notice when you enter the hotel is the enormously high ceiling. There is a big vault extending to the top floor so everything looks quite spacious. This poses some questions about air-conditioning effectiveness, but at the same time creates a unique atmosphere of a top-class hotel.
The staff is very polite and nice during check-in. It’s good to stay at an ordinary business hotel where nothing is too much or too little, but the pleasure of being treated in a special way like at Hyatt Regency Fukuoka is also unique.
Relax in a simple, but harmonious room
Complete the check-in procedures and go to your room. While not a very wide one – about 23 square meters – it is well-lit by the sunshine. Gather new strength by resting for a bit before your walk around Hakata’s streets.
The supplier of women’s amenities at Hyatt Regency Fukuoka is POLA company. Trying cosmetic products that you don’t usually use everyday is another great feature of staying in a top-class hotel.
Aperitif at the special lounge in Regency’s Club
There is a club floor at Hyatt Regency Fukuoka renovated in 2012 with a modern new interior. Stop by before you gourmet trip around Hakata and appease your thirst with a drink.
You might think that the rooms on the club floor are large and luxurious, but here they are compact and you can stay at a reasonable price. This is an ideal choice if you plan to go out for the night and do not need an especially luxurious room.
The night is long! From Hyatt Regency Fukuoka to Hakata district
After taking a short rest at the hotel it’s time to start your night tour around Hakata’s streets. Hyatt Regency Fukuoka is located just 7 minutes away on foot from Hakata Station which makes it convenient for sightseeing. Even if you stay out late and return by taxi, there’s no need to worry that the distance will be far. The staff at the reception desk wishes you a great time and you begin your night life experience!
Ask the concierge for advice if you don’t know where to go
There are plenty of local delicacies to eat in Fukuoka – dishes boiled in water, hot pot stew with offal, pork broth ramen noodles, Nakasu’s food stalls, gyoza on iron pot, etc. If you don’t know where to go, simply ask the hotel’s concierge for advice. They can help you 24 hours per day and there’s also a concierge at the club floor who can give you even more detailed information. Enjoy a first-class stay at Hyatt Regency Fukuoka!
