The Heathman Hotel is an iconic hotel in the heart of downtown Portland with 150 rooms. Famous guests include the US President, Shades of Grey characters Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, Madonna, and other well-known names. The impeccable service starts with the doorman and valet and continues throughout your stay to checkout. Guest satisfaction is the focus of all service at The Heathman Hotel.

Impeccable service starts at the front door

The modern and luxurious hotel includes standard amenities such as high speed Internet, valet services, and impeccable service. But how many hotels offer a “Bed Menu” to their guests? The Heathman does with choices of TempurPedic, European Pillow-top, or European Feather-top beds. Unique personal concierge service is standard to all guests. The guest rooms are spacious and arranged to be comfortable, averaging of 350 square feet per room. Suites are available as well, which run up to 1000 square feet.

An impressive lending library has 2700 cataloged titles signed by authors who enjoyed stays at The Heathman. Just browsing the titles gives one a sense of awe regarding previous guests. Fitness facilities with top-of-the-line equipment are available for a quick workout. The downtown Portland area also offers great opportunities to walk or run outside for an alternative workout while enjoying the city.

Amazing food and drink

When staying in Portland, you have hundreds of choices for great food. At The Heathman, you don’t have to go far. On the ground floor, The Heathman Restaurant and Bar provides delectable food, fine wines, and outstanding service to patrons. The Tea Court Lounge features Eucalyptus-paneled walls, a marble fireplace, and an Austrian hand-cut chandelier. The lounge is great for cocktails, afternoon tea, or a light dining option. Live jazz music is featured Wednesday through Saturday nights without a cover charge.

Nearby concerts, shows, and other activities

Located next to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and Portland Center for the Performing Arts, guests frequently take in amazing concerts and performances during their stay. The downtown core offers a wide variety of shopping venues from Nordstrom to Target. Many specialty shops in the area offer unique clothing, arts, souvenirs, and trinkets. Coffee shops and cafes abound to delight your palate as well. The Pearl District, Keller Auditorium, Providence Park (soccer stadium), Oregon Zoo, and Oregon Convention Center are just minutes away by walking or hopping on Max, Portland’s light rail system.

Zelda the bulldog welcomes guests and their dogs

The Heathman is considered one of the “World’s Best Places to Stay by Conde Nast and boasts a 30 year record of AAA Four-Diamond Awards. I agree with those high ratings. Everyone from the doorman in his bright red coat to the concierge to the housekeeping staff are friendly and willing to help. If you need anything during your stay, it is highly likely the staff will be able to assist you with that need.

Pets are welcome at the Heathman with their own greeting statute of Zelda, a French bulldog, and water bowl at the entrance. The property is smoke free.

A great hotel in the heart of a great city

I appreciate hotels that are pet friendly so I can take my furry companion with me when I travel. Enjoy an elegant and relaxing weekend away in a world class hotel at The Heathman Hotel – with or without your dog.
