4. Take a dip in Lake Blue Ridge
The lake is one of the sources of pride and joy of Blue Ridge, featuring picturesque aquamarine waters. You and your family can go swimming at Morganton Point Recreation Area which also features a campground and a picnic area. Make sure to wear water shoes to protect your feet from the pebbles if you’re going to try swimming here. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards from here as well. 11. Watch a movie under the stars at Swan Drive-in
Open since 1955, the Swan is one of the four remaining drive-in theaters in Georgia. There’s a concession stand if you want to grab some snacks (their specialties are funnel cakes and deep-fried Oreos). Chairs can be rented if you want to watch from outside your car. Pets are welcome here provided they are well-behaved. If you’re worried about sound quality, don’t be, because the audio of the movie is synced via FM radio. You can tune in via your car radio or by using a portable radio (make sure to bring batteries!).

Built in 1905, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway traverses Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Georgia, and Copperhill, Tennessee, before returning to Blue Ridge. The journey, which runs for approximately four hours, allows guests to enjoy the breathtaking views of the scenery. There’s a two-hour layover at Copperhill/McCaysville, where you can grab some lunch and/or do some shopping. Snacks and drinks are available on the train itself.
