2. Relax enjoying cultural events at the Habitat World Convention Centre
The Habitat World Convention Centre is very conveniently located at Lodhi Road in New Delhi. It has many good restaurants offering a variety of national and international cuisines. The overall ambiance of the place creates a very soothing effect on the mind. You will find meetings, conventions and conferences to be regularly held here because it is the perfect venue for hosting such events.
There is even plenty of free parking space underground. The management is good and the staff too is very polite. You will regularly find many events and shows being held here after 7 p.m., so make it a point to check the website before visiting.

3. Watch and hear the light and sound show at Purana Qila

The city of New Delhi has a very long history to it. Multiple transfers of power have taken place here over the years and many rulers have constructed different kinds of monuments as a mark of their legacy. Purana Qila is one such ancient fort.
Many parts of the fort lie in ruins. However, it still stands majestically today. A guide won’t be necessary to explore the fort but it will usually take more than an hour to go through it fully.
The surroundings have palaces, channels of water, imposing gates and even a museum. All of these will give some idea of the grandeur of New Delhi during the days of its rulers. The light and sound show here tells the story of Delhi’s transformation over time.
It is very conveniently located near India Gate and the Delhi Zoo. One can easily reach it via metro getting down at the Pragati Maidan stop. Open all days of the year, there is a nominal entry fee taken. The English version of the sound and light show runs from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. and you can even book tickets online.

4. Experience peace at the Sai Baba Temple

Being the capital of a country with a predominantly Hindu population, you can expect many temples in New Delhi. This is one such temple. The Sai Baba Temple is located close to Lodhi road and is in the vicinity of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
In fact, it is also close the Habitat World Convention Centre. Many people pray here on a daily basis. You can surely expect to spend more than an hour here.
It is a very peaceful temple. On Thursdays, you can expect the temple to be particularly crowded. So while the regular ‘Dhoop Aarti’ evening prayer takes place at 6:30 pm on Thursdays, the time for the same is 7 p.m.
A ‘Shej Aarti’ is conducted at 9:30 p.m. The management controls the queues of devotees pretty well, so there is no chaos. There will also be several beggars right outside the temple. You will need to be careful to watch out for pickpocketers as well.

5. Take kids shopping to DLF Promenade Mall
The DLF Promenade Mall is located a little far from the airport. It has a sprawling presence and you will find a lot of international brands here. Many restaurant chains also have their outlets here, apart from the food court.
Some of these will be affordable whereas others are more upmarket. There is a movie theatre as well, where the seats are very comfortable. The mall has been in operation for several years and sees plenty of patrons visiting it on a regular basis.

6. Feel devoted to sufi music at Hazrat Nizamuddin Darga

The Hazrat Nizamuddin Darga is a beautifully decorated Darga. You will find plenty of rose petals used in the decoration. It is dedicated to the Sufi saint Nizamuddin Aulia.
The approach road to the Darga is very crowded and not very clean. However, many people regularly come here to seek blessings of the saint. There are even tombs dedicated to poets like Amir Khusro and Ghalib. Do not miss the Qawwali sessions that are held here!
