If you are looking to get a glimpse of how your favorite wine is made or want to sample a flight of award-winning wines, these top vineyards each offer their own unique experiences for guests to enjoy.

1. Sparkling Pointe


Spanning 40 acres, Sparkling Pointe proudly crafts a selection of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. After gathering the grapes by hand, they are then sent to the wine-making facility on site. Completed in 2010, the facility specializes in the production of Methode Champenoise Sparkling Wine and is composed of a 30,000 gallon (113,562 liter) tank room, a bottling line which produces 3,000 bottles per hour, and a gypo pallet riddling machine fitted for 2,000 bottles.

While touring the facility, visitors can view each stage of production while overlooking the tank room and cellars. In the spacious Tasting House, guests can enjoy a selection of wine and table service while marveling at Brazilian artwork and an elegant, crystal chandelier curated by owners Cynthia and Tom Rosicki. The all-encompassing Unraveling Methode Champenoise Tour takes guests on a journey through the vineyard, crush pad, tank room, and cellar and culminates with a tasting of the vineyard’s award winning wines. The tour lasts an hour to an hour and a half and includes a 15 percent discount on bottle purchases. The tour is 50 USD and is offered between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are required.

2. Sannino Vineyard

Located in Cutchogue, Sannino Vineyard offers both wine tasting and educational experiences. Inside their new tasting house, guests can enjoy 99-minute-long tours for 100 USD. The site also provides in-depth explanations on winemaking and blending while touring their vineyards and processing facility. A unique addition to the vineyard is the bed and breakfast, which provides guests with a private, Tuscan-style getaway with gorgeous views of the vineyard.

Each room offers several amenities, including WiFi, a private balcony, a marble bath with a rain-head shower, and beach passes. Rooms for two guests range from 450 - 500 USD.

3. Old Field Vineyards


Old Field Vineyard’s name fits perfectly with its history. Used as farm land by the Native Americans for hundreds of years, the site was then used by European settlers in 1640 after they bartered for it with the Natives. In wasn’t until 1974 when the first vineyards were planted, which now include Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir. Today, guests can enjoy a two-hour tour around the vineyards and facilities to learn about the wine making process before sampling a selection of wines. The tour also includes a boxed lunch. Small groups of up to four people can also enjoy a picnic by the pond and choose from a selection of wine from the bar, with flights ranging from 4 USD to 12 USD. Larger groups must make a reservation in advance.

4. Mattebella Vineyards

This environmentally-friendly farm prides itself on traditional, clean vineyard practices and wine making techniques, which include hand picking grapes, fruit thinning and organic fertilizers. Spanning 22 acres, visitors can savor a selection of Mattebella’s European wines. From inside a rustic barn surrounded by rose bushes and fig trees, guests can sample a selection of flights ranging from 20 USD to 26 USD. The site is open from Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., but opening hours change throughout the year. Guests are welcome to bring their dogs and private tastings and tours are available by reservation.

Raised on a farm in Calabria, Italy, owner Claudia Purita grew up around wine making and prides herself on crafting a traditional selection of vines. Working largely by herself, she has carefully tended to each vine and planted most of the vineyard by hand. Guests can savor a selection of wines with flights ranging from 6 USD to 10 USD. Groups larger than six must make a reservation.

6. Bedell Cellars and Corey Creek Tap Room


Since 1980, Bedell Cellars and Corey Creek Tap Room has pioneered clean, sustainable wine making techniques with the Long Island climate in mind. Boasting a unique North Fork flair, the carefully crafted wines include an array of reds and whites. From their rustic barn, guests can lounge on the deck and view spectacular sunsets overlooking the vineyard. 7. Raphael Vineyards


Drawing inspiration from Italian monasteries, Raphael Vineyards was designed by John Petrocelli and is complete with modern wine making equipment with a Mediterranean flair. The winery resides 12 feet (3.6 meters) underground and takes advantage of the 55 degree Fahrenheit (16 Celsius) temperatures and natural gravity flow to create the wines. Boasting an array for North Fork flavors in their red and white wines, the grapes are traditionally harvested by hand. Guests to this charming vineyard can embark on a tour of the expansive acres, tank room, and barrel cellar. The 40 minute tours also include a selection of four wine tastings and an antipasto served indoors. Tours are 65 USD per person and are by reservation only. Guests can also choose individual flights which range from 15 USD to 20 USD. The vineyard and tasting room is open from 11am to 5pm seven days a week.

8. Osprey’s Dominion


Spanning more than 90 acres, Osprey’s Dominion has been producing a fine selection of award-winning, North Fork wines since 1983. Among their selection, which includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Riesling, the site also boasts the unique styles of Carmenere, Edelzwicker, and Spice Wine. Guests can enjoy flights from either their indoor tasting room or play a game of volleyball on their large lawn overlooking the vineyard. Free live music is also provided on weekends. Producing a selection of Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, and others for 34 years, Pugliese Vineyards is commonly known as “The Winery in the Hollow.” The scenic location includes a peaceful lake with an elegant fountain along with plenty of outdoor seating around the grounds. The family-owned atmosphere is prevalent throughout the grounds, especially through the hand-painted wine glasses guests sample tastings from, which were designed by the owner, Pat Pugliese. On select weekends throughout the year, guests can also enjoy live music on the grounds. From the wine bar, guests can personalize their flights with all wines offered for tasting. Handcrafted baskets are also available for purchase in the gift shop, which include one bottle of wine and two hand-painted wine glasses. The site is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
