The Perchtenlauf
This is a pre-Christian Alpine winter tradition celebrated annually in Leibnitz. It was originally called Perchten, females who wear wooden masks to represent the ancient goddess called Frau Perchta. This happens between December and January. Watch out for the two events - the wine festival and Perchtenlauf - to really experience the city’s culture.
