1. Sunflower Cafe
Editor's Note: Photo taken from the establishment's official social account
The Sunflower Café is a cheerful looking vegetarian restaurant nestled on Berry Hill that is painted bright yellow on the exterior and decorated with eye-catching sunflower décor that can’t be missed. It also features a small garden for outdoor dining. If you are driving, do take note that the parking lot can be a bit packed during lunch hours and queues are expected. Takeaways are also possible in case it gets too crowded. Once inside, walk down the row of the steam table just like in a school cafeteria and choose from the wide selection of daily specials, veggie burgers, salads, brown rice, vegan barbecue and wraps all at affordable ala carte prices. The huge variety is prepared in-house daily and the everything is organic and non-GMO. Can’t get enough of spices? Try the Buffalo Tempeh Wraps! Don’t forget to douse the heat with locally produced Kombucha, a detoxifying fermented black tea which comes in different flavours and is also rich in vitamin B.

2. The Wild Cow
Editor's Note: Photo taken from the establishment's official social account
Located east downtown of Nashville, The Wild Cow is a well-known local favourite with several delightful surprises even for non-vegetarians to try. For instance, look forward to their daily special such as colourful platters of double layered tortilla which holds a range of ingredients like vegan chorizo to green chilli tofu and locally grown vegetables from spinach to sweet potatoes. Alternatively, ponder at their intriguing menu items with an interesting mix of ingredients and sauces. We highly recommended the black bean patty burgers or the creatively assembled tacos or burritos with black beans. Before that, you may also start with the creamy spinach and artichoke dip appetiser. Be promised that all dips, sauces and dressings here are home-made. In addition, as the restaurant prides itself for not having a freezer, you can expect that all ingredients that are regularly sourced locally to be fresh and of the highest quality.

From the same founders as The Wild Cow and tucked away in the same building, Graze also established a plant-based menu for dinner and weekend brunch. Most first-time visitors would be sure to try their generous serving of Mac & Chorizo (vegan) tossed in cheeselike chipotle-chia mayo sauce that is dairy free. The loaded oven-baked golden potatoes are also a wholesome brunch choice paired with guacamole and cashew cheese. In addition, Graze also serves the Nashville hot tempeh which is a veggie-friendly rendition of the Nashville hot chicken. On top of that, Graze comes with a full bar serving crafted and distilled beers. For the non-alcoholic, they also blend up some great nutritious smoothies. Lastly, if you are having a sweet tooth and craving some desserts, the restaurant has some amazing cookie bottomed cheesecakes and an all-time favourite chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich.

The Vegetarian Vegan Philly Steak for lunch. Thanks !
Posted by Veggie Village And Caribbean Cuisine on Monday, 5 March 2018
Hidden in the historic Germantown of Nashville amongst other popular restaurants and cafes, Veggie Village is located in a snug and unassuming house. Nonetheless, it promises a unique laid-back Caribbean dining experience. Entering into the house would make you subtly feel like you have stepped into an art exhibition museum with large hanging art pieces on the walls and different dining rooms of different themes. Although it is promoted as a vegetarian restaurant, it also serves meat dishes such as their famous jerk chicken as well on a relatively small menu. However, another unique aspect of this restaurant is that the chefs can get creative and the menu, as well as their daily special, keeps constantly changing to suit returning guest. To check out what is on their menu for the day, you can call in to enquire or check their facebook page for any updates.
