When people talk about Nepal, an adventure in the Himalayas most certainly always comes to mind. While the Everest region is the more sought-after destination in this country, one will find lesser-known but still breathtaking and exciting trekking routes in the underrated Annapurna region. This region is known for being more accessible and affordable compared to Everest. It is also home to the 10th tallest mountain in the world - Annapurna I.
In November 2018, I went on a solo trip to the Annapurna region and did a week-long trek to the Mardi Himal Base Camp. Mardi Himal is a peak sitting below the sacred and unclimbed Machhapuchhare. During the trek, I stayed in remote mountain lodges and woke up each morning that I was there to unparalleled views of the Annapurna massif.
