In the picture is the intersection of Ayala and Makati Avenue on an early Sunday morning (hence, no traffic). The Philippine Stock Exchange and the verdant Ayala Triangle Gardens are at the corner. On weekends and early evenings, people go to Ayala Triangle to jog, run, exercise, walk their dogs, or dine at the fancy restaurants in the park. Ayala and Makati Avenue are among the major thoroughfares in the city center. You will see high-rise office buildings, condominiums, world-class hotels, banks, shops, restaurants, museums, and cafes.
Recently, the city announced that every Sunday morning in September, Ayala Avenue and some side streets will be closed to motorists. The avenue will be open to pedestrians who want to go biking, walking, or exercise.
