A city known for its skillful blend of modern and traditional concepts evident in its architectural styles and culture, Barcelona has become an attractive spot for tourists. It is, in fact, among the top 20 most visited cities in the world. The city is brimming with exciting activities. You can explore Gaudi’s world-class masterpieces such as the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, bask under the sunshine of the Mediterranean coast, and enjoy the vibrant nightlife scene. Visit the bustling Mercado de La Boqueria to mingle with locals and do some shopping. Art lovers should definitely stop by Picasso Museum to admire exquisite works by Pablo Picasso.

After a busy day, staying in a luxurious hotel will definitely make your trip a remarkable experience. Continue reading for a list of the best 5-star hotels in Barcelona, Spain.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) hotel ratings, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on May 10, 2024.

1. Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona (from USD 1155)

Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, is an establishment that is never out of place in the luxurious neighborhood of Passeig de Gràcia. This 5-star hotel boasts a wide range of plush accommodations, Michelin-starred restaurants, and a revitalizing spa experience that tourists will delight in. There’s also a 24-hour fitness center on site.

The hotel’s strategic location allows tourists to conveniently explore the area. Popular attractions such as Gaudi’s Casa Batlló and La Pedrera are just less than a 10-minute walk away. You can splurge on some fashion items as the property is close to well-known brand establishments such as Louis Vuitton, Nike, and Zara.

This property is only about a 15-minute drive from Park Güell, which is the most colorful place in Barcelona and one of the most popular attractions in the world. It was built between 1900 and 1914 by the famous architect Antonio Gaudí and is a good place for all ages. It's one of Barcelona’s most visited tourist attractions, and I highly recommend buying online tickets in advance. The main reason for purchasing tickets in advance is that the park tends to sell out. For the limited tickets still available, there are usually long queues at the entrance of the park.

I used Headout to buy tickets to Park Güell with an audio guide, and the price was 13 Eur (14.03 USD) per ticket. You can check availability up to three months in advance and select the specific date and your preferred time to visit the park.
