Every summer, Dewey Beach gets thousands of visitors to enjoy surf and sand. A few lucky visitors have found the Atlantic View Hotel to be the best place to enjoy the beach to its fullest. For over 35 years, the Atlantic View Hotel has welcomed guest proudly displaying their motto “Friendliness and cleanliness.”

This well-maintained hotel is right on the beach. Choose rooms facing the beach to take in the views all day long. Watching the sunrise from these rooms is a highlight of a beach vacation. There are three floors on the beach-facing side of the hotel and four on the town facing side. Beach-side rooms cost a bit more but are worth the extra money spent. Parents can let their children loose on the beach and keep an eye on them from their room’s balcony.

Ocean front room choices include: 1st floor oceanfront queen, 2nd and 3rd floor oceanfront queen, and oceanfront 2nd or 3rd floor king. The higher the floor, the better the view of the ocean and beach. Rooms on the west side of the hotel are significantly less in price but offer the same convenient location. Rooms on the 4th floor have an ocean-facing common walkway, where fourth floor guests are welcome to take in one of the best views of Dewey Beach anywhere.

First floor rooms share a common deck that provides easy access to the pool and beach. Each room has a café-style table and two chairs for enjoying your morning coffee and newspaper. Relax in an Adirondack chair on your patio listening to the waves on the beach.

Ocean view rooms cost up to 30 USD to 50 USD more depending on the season. Most guests want the big views that the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms provide. Choose a king room and get a comfy sofa as a bonus from the space saved by not having two beds.

All rooms offer guests one parking space, a fridge, microwave, free continental breakfast, recently renovated pool, coin-op guest laundry, complimentary hospitality hour with wine, cheese, and crackers daily from 5–6 p.m., warm cookies at 8 p.m., and most rooms were renovated during the winter of 2017/2018 in preparation for the new season. Although the hotel doesn’t have an elevator, guests needing assistance with luggage merely need to request help at the front desk.

There’s also the Tanger Outlet Stores in Rehoboth Beach for almost anything you need for a perfect beach vacation.
