If you are suffering from the stress of modern day life, I highly recommend taking a trip to Bali Silent Retreat in Bali, Indonesia. The name says it all — no talking allowed! Days consist of silent contemplation, meditation, yoga, reading and self-reflection. This may not appeal to some; however, I can truly guarantee you will come out feeling incredibly relaxed, refreshed and ready to take on the world.

Wind down with the relaxed lifestyle

Day-to-day life at Bali Silent Meditation Retreat is slow. If you are suffering from stress and live a busy lifestyle, you will truly benefit from spending a few days here. There is a suggested timetable that you do not have to follow; however, it is designed for guests who wish to get the most out of their stay.

Spend time in the fully equipped library

The fantastic library here at bali silent retreat

You will have plenty of free time during your stay at Bali Silent Retreat. Most people choose to fill this time with reading books from the exceptional library. There is a wide range of books here including fiction and nonfiction. Take as many books out as you’d like!

Find peace with yoga and meditation

The yoga shala!

One of the highlights here at Bali Silent Retreat is, of course, the yoga and meditation. These activities happen twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. It is encouraged that guests participate in all the classes on offer to get the most out of their stay. If you are new to these practices, no need to worry as staff are incredibly experienced and can accommodate for people of all levels. Yoga and meditation are both relaxing activities that will bring peace into your life and help you rejuvenate.

Accommodation choices

Simple yet comfortable accommodation

Here at Bali Silent Retreat, you will find simple accommodation. You have the choice of either staying in an 8-bed dormitory or choosing the more luxurious option of having your own room. Either way, you will not be spending much time here, as there are many other lovely places to enjoy. Male and female dormitories are separate and both contain great bathrooms. Beds are comfortable and all have a mosquito net to protect you from bug bites during the night.

Enjoy the fresh organic food

Enjoy delicious organic food for every meal

The food here at Bali Silent Retreat is exceptional! It is all plant based, apart from the wild ducks eggs that are collected fresh every morning. Breakfast consists of tropical fruit, homemade bread, delicious spreads and a variety of cooked options that are different everyday. Lunch consists of a salad bar filled with fresh organic vegetables and is on offer from 11.30 pm until 3.30 pm.

Although every meal is great, dinner is by far the best! The menu is different every night and usually consists of multiple raw salads, a creamy vegetable curry, soup, rice and numerous other vegetable based dishes. You do not have to worry about getting your 5+ a day of vegetables here!

Extra activities

Take a walk through the rice paddies

There are many activities to do here at Bali Silent Meditation Retreat. Every second night there is usually a tea circle in which staff and guests come together to discuss a specific topic. Every time is different and ranges from Balinese culture to the food that is served here at the retreat! It is also a great opportunity to chat if you are struggling with the silence! You can also choose to visit the local hot springs and take a dip in the natural water or even go for walk around the rice paddies. However, the main reason for visiting Bali Silent Retreat is to simply relax, read and rest so many guests are happy with limited activities.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit!

If you are heading to Bali and have the opportunity to visit this unique retreat, please do not hesitate! The lifestyle here is designed to help guests relax, rejuvenate and find more inner peace. You will be truly looked after and hopefully will come out feeling incredibly refreshed.
