With a name that translates roughly as “Home in the Trees with Birds”, you already get the impression that Ban Suan Nok Resort is going to be a pleasant place to stay. Peaceful and surrounded by nature, it is located in Pak Chong, a district of Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

Close to the main entrance of Khao Yai National Park, named after one of the park’s large mountains, Ban Suan Nok Resort offers an ideal base for nature-lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Beautiful bungalows with great amenities

Baan Suan Nok Resort has just eight lovely bungalows that are spread over large grounds. Each bungalow has its own unique style and design, and the different colours and shapes give the resort quite a whimsical feel.

There are bungalows available for two people, sharing a double bed, and those that can accommodate up to four people in two double bedrooms. Whilst all bungalows are deceptively spacious inside, if you wanted even more space you could opt for a two-bedroom bungalow with an additional separate living room.

Prices vary as to the time of year and the size of the bungalow. The nightly costs are between 800 THB (approximately 22.50 USD) and 4,700 THB (approximately 132 USD).

All bungalows have a private bathroom, complete with hot water and a selection of mini toiletries. Beds are invitingly soft, and you can relax in air-conditioned comfort whilst flicking through the cable TV channels. Some rooms have a plush sofa, and others have a table and chairs. Other room facilities include a refrigerator, complimentary drinking water, and storage space by way of wardrobes or cupboards.

You can get even closer to nature with a stay in a tent. Tents can be rented, along with bedding, for 500 THB (approximately 14 USD) per night.

Private terraces and colourful gardens

Each bungalow has its own private terrace with outdoor seating. Whilst some have tables and chairs, others have built-in benches. Lounge outside, take a deep breath, and enjoy inhaling the fresh mountain air. The sounds of nature fill the air, with birds tweeting, chirruping, and trilling, crickets clacking, bees humming, lizards making their diverse calling sounds, and a variety of insects buzzing and whirring all around.

Take a stroll through the leafy gardens and you can admire lots of colourful flowers, some with deliciously fragrant scents. Look out for vibrant butterflies, with an array of detailed and eye-catching patterns, flitting between the pretty flowers.
