If you’re seeking a tranquil sanctuary away from the bustling city, the kingdom of Bhutan will provide that for you. As a bastion of Vajrayana Buddhism, Bhutan offers well-preserved and thoughtful teachings and traditions that will influence aspects of your life. The country’s most important Buddhist monastery, Taktsang Goemba, or Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is located on a vertical cliff. Constructed in the year 1692, this religious place is rooted in legends. You can also celebrate Tsechus with the locals. This is an annual religious event conducted in major monasteries that gathers people from all over to witness masked dances and cultural items.

Bhutan will surely offer a novel experience to travelers. This beautiful country is modern and medieval at the same time, as they put the utmost importance on their culture. Experience the country’s hospitality when you stay at the best hotels in Bhutan.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. This hotel is about a 30-minute drive from Punakha Dzong, a place ideal for both nature and culture enthusiasts. The palace is located between the Pho Chhu (male) and Mo Chhu (female) rivers in the Punakha Valley. The source of the Mo Chu River is in the northern hills of Lighsi and Laya in Bhutan, and in Tibet. The Po Chu River, on the other hand, is fed by glaciers in the Lunana region of the Punakha Valley. The river formed out of the confluence of these two rivers is known as Puna Tsang Chu or Sankosh River and flows down through Wangdue Phodrang. It crosses the Bhutan–India border at Kalikhola and eventually meets the Brahmaputra River.
