Yoichi is a town famous for its whisky industry, and there are various distilleries around the town. It is most famous for the Nikka Whisky Distilling that was founded by Masataka Taketsuru – the man who introduced whisky to Japan. Hotel Suimeikaku was originally a Japanese restaurant but was later established as a hotel, and its name was given by Masataka Taketsuru.

Grand Park Otaru is located at the romantic Otaru Bay area and is only 5 minutes from Otaruchikkou station.
